External Scripts
You can use External Scripts to add additional functionality or integration with 3rd party developers and sites. Examples could be email integration, website traffic metrics or interactive tools. For the most part, this is an advanced feature that most users will not need to worry about to edit their store. If you do need to integrate witha 3rd party, the general method is to contact them about integrating their app or tool. They will provide you with a script wchich you can simply paste into this section. As an example, we will add a very basic calculator to the home page just so you can see the process in action. I will include the script for the calculator at the bottom of the page if you wish to try it yourself
To add a script, follow these steps:
- From the Admin Panel, look to the left and select Marketing > Scripts:
- The next screen will show the script manager. Select Add New Script:
- Provide a clear, descriptive Name. Select which Pages this script should be added to and select the Position (This will be included in the instructions sent by the 3rd party) and add the script itself into the Script Content section. When compelte, select the orange Save button:
- To test the script, open your live store by navigating to it. This shows the calculator added to the page at the bottom of the tag:
